“Who Doesn’t Love Puppies?”
Kathryn and Brad Ziemer surprised their wedding party when they went outside after the ceremony to take photos. Instead of bouquets of flowers they had 13 rescue puppies for the wedding pictures.
Kathryn and Brad are big supporters of Secondhand Hounds. They are a non-profit organization in Eden Prairie, Minnesota that rescues dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters. All the puppies came from Secondhand Hounds.
Also, instead of buying gifts for the wedding party, they donated money to Secondhand Hounds and another non-profit organization in their names.
Kathryn says the decision to pick rescue puppies over flowers was an easy one.
“Well, first-off who doesn’t love puppies? And second, I wanted puppies specifically from Secondhand Hounds. Having puppies at the wedding was so special to me and Brad, but it was more about Secondhand Hounds! This animal rescue is incredible!” Kathryn said.
“It is an honor and a privilege to be involved with such a respectable rescue,” the photographer, Alycia Petrie, said. She told Fox News she was on the staff at Secondhand Hounds when she wasn’t snapping wedding photos.
